Nothing beats the impact of real-life interactions on yourself, your work and the people you serve.

Most of my previous professional life was digitally focused: online publishing, online retail, online dating, and more. I formed friendships and work relationships solely through virtual meetings. I spent hours texting friends and family. Since Covid, I've worked virtually from home about 95% of the time, including now as a full-time career coach. And I've genuinely loved it. But then life jolted me awake with a virtual slap in the face.

Over the recent months, I've had the opportunity to coach students at the iconic Cambridge University campus, met inspiring professionals at wonderful networking events and run mental imagery workshops in gorgeous venues that filled my mind with creative energy. I've shared our hybrid visualisation training concepts in real life with new partners who were daring enough to join us on this exciting new adventure. All in-person. And I couldn’t have been more wrong in previously prioritising digital over in-person connections.

In-person connections intensify the energy of shared experiences, pushing your inner strengths and authentic self to emotionally connect with others, creating incredible bonds on a deeper level. They multiply the impact of your work and the results your clients and partners achieve. They activate all your senses to wake up and burst out to guide your intuition and your emotional intelligence. They make everything more vivid, more colourful, more intense. Most importantly, they bring the magic of your purpose to life.

Yes, the virtual world we live in is a universe full of wonderful opportunities, but nothing will ever match the tremendous impact of in-person connections on yourself, your work, and the people you serve. Meet, hug, share, love, laugh, speak (loud!)… and be (real!).
